Units of Power

The units of electrical power are the same as the units of power in other areas of science.  The watt was named after James Watt.

The watt is about the amount of power required to heat one gram of air 1 degree Celsius in one second

The watt's symbol is "W"

The watt is the power which in one second gives rise to energy of 1 joule.
